Good Manners
Politeness, respect and a bit of broad-mindedness (even if somebody breaks the rules!). -
No provocations.
-
No offenses.
-
No posts with negative impact on the climate in our forum.
-
Tolerance also means not to always start an argument just because someone has broken the rules.
-
Every individual is only permitted to use one account in this forum, except as otherwise agreed. Membership on this forum is non-binding and free of charge. It is not permitted to pass account data to a third party. (very heavy)
Please mind the special handling in the warning system! -
No advertisings or discussions for/about competition products (heavy)
Our forum is not neutral at all, so these discussions would not match here. Please use other neutral plattforms for such discussions. -
Criticism has to be passed constructive.
Other criticism does not make sense and will be deleted if neccessary.
-
Moderation
The moderators ensure proper conduct on this forum and support the administrators. -
The moderators are entitled to edit, close, move and delete posts and threads to keep things in order. Furthermore, they are authorised to warn users who violate the terms of use.
-
If a user repeatedly violates the terms of use, the administrators are authorized to temporarily or permanently ban the user from this forum.
-
Instructions given by moderators are to be obeyed. Complaints and crisitism need to be addressed personally to the moderator in question or to the administrators, as necessary. (heavy)
Criticising the moderators or administrators in public often leads to emotionally heated off-topic debates and should therefore be avoided. -
The alerting system allows to easily report rule breaking. False alarm is prohibited!
-
Warning System: In case of violating these terms of use, the moderators may declare a warning with a fixed score. In case of overspending a fixed limit of the score sum, sanctions will be activated automatically.
The warnings and their scores will decline after a specified time. We differ between "light" and "heavy" violations. Heavy violations are marked in the rules. This is the base for our warning system:
Level 0 - 0 points ("symbolic warning") and deletion of post: Not used template (regards show room, addon and screenshot forum).
Level 1 - 1 point: Light violations with leniency, e.g. if a newbie asks euphoric for a release date or does not use the thankomat but posts very short "thankyou" posts.
Level 2 - 10 points: Light violations commited repeatedly or in knowledge of the rule or heavy violations with leniency (newbies who obviously do not know the rule)
Level 3 - 30 points: Heavy violations commited repeatedly or with knowledge of the rule; or normally as light classified violations with special severity or with obviously intentional background
Level 4 - 60 points: Double accounts warning for the older account. The newer account will be blocked completely.

Communication skills
The moderators are entitled to remove posts and threads without comment, if the following rules are violated! -
Use the search function (SF or SuFu in German)! Please verify prior to opening a new thread, if the topic has already been covered.
-
Off-topic posts (OT) should be generally avoided.
-
Please use the thank-o-mat, unsubstantial posts without any merit are to be avoided.
E. g. posts like "Thanks!", "Cool!", "Me too" or "hahaha funny!!!11" -
Digging old threads up should be avoided unless you have something essential or new to add.
-
Don't try to be deputy sheriff! Only the official moderators are allowed to punish rule-breakers. As necessary, please use the alerting system.
If there are simple rule violations, please do not send PNs to moderators or administrators! The alerting system is much more flexible and better for that! -
Questions about the release date or the current project state are generally regarded as annoying and shall therefore be avoided.
If the developer does not give any information, he/she is probably not able to provide it. -
If a project presentation lacks both screenshots and concept, our moderators reserve the right do remove the thread.
-
Please post wishes for addons only in the "Addon Wishes" section and offer contribution, if possible.
If you'd like so see a certain map, building or vehicle in OMSI that does not exist yet, we ask you to post that wish in the corresponding section "Addon Wishes" only. Furthermore, the initiator should provide some documents (e.g. photos) or offer his/her contribution (for larger projects). -
Absolutely no advertisings (heavy) and no spam
You will find link lists in our OT section; if you would like to see your link there, please post it in that section. Every other advertisings are prohibited.

Please use the edit function instead. -

-
The deletion of the user account will be done exclusively by Marcel Kuhnt
Please write a PN! -
Renamings will be done only in exceptional cases and can only be done by administrators
Choose a good nick name, don't use first and last name and stand by the things you've written! Then there is no need to change your nick name. We just would like to have transparency, everybody should understand, who is who. So we will do renamings only in well-founded exceptional cases and if it is possilbe to see well the connection between old and new name.
