MEP Quadbus II (beta download, almost 97% complete) and more

A long time ago I was trying to make a bus... that was horrible, ok, but was my first experiences ever with 3D. Step by step... I'm still learning, but now my buses are getting better. I'm editing my Quadbus II, my second fictional bus project with Brazilian style. Much better than my first project in 2012.

Type of download: Bus (for OMSI 2 and 1)
Name of project: MEP Quadbus II
Participating users: Marcos Elias (me, almost everything), Rafael Lopes, Fellype 3D (cockpit), Wallace Machado (steering wheel) and Morphi (amazing sounds). And of course, some MR-Software scripts.

Details: A fictional bus, this version has 3 doors. My inspiration was the MB O500U low floor, very common here in São Paulo/Brazil. The body was based on lines of Caio Mondego H, a Brazilian bus, but this one is fictional: it is completely new and doesn't exists in any city (i love this type of project).

Copyright: Free to use and share, to make skins, to record videos/gameplays; Free to make mods (engine, sounds etc) since your mod can be modified by someone else too. This bus is freeware, you cannot sell or make money using it.

Almost every week I post a video showing current progress.

DOWNLOAD
Download (latest version, I'm updating it almost every 15 days):

http://www.omsi.com.br/quadbus2/

Version 1.6.2, direct links:

* Main files: https://www.mediafire.com/?49z8u7163mh730e
* Small patch with skins and bugfix in some textures (download and replace after you've installed the first file): https://www.mediafire.com/?d7y077id775jprx
* BUSE fonts, if you don't have them: http://www.mediafire.com/download/w7hpru…/Fonts_BUSE.rar

IMPORTANT, READ!

* This bus uses a different IBIS and matrix, like some Brazilian busses. The line in this bus will be shown in a different way, it was designed for my map (Savoy) with São Paulo bus lines, in format XXXY-ZZ, with 3 or 4 digits, one letter and two last digits). Like 351F-10, 4208-10, 3139-31. If you have to use a traditional line in OMSI, first click "SEM" button (it removes the -10) and then put the line (L) and route (R) or ziel (D), changing the last two zeros to eight. 07600, route 1 will be 07688, route 1. 13700 will be 13788, and so on. If you have to use Berlin letters, use the Alt>92 in OMSI and put directly the line you want. I am considering to revert this IBIS to a default IBIS in next versions. My other busses have a traditional IBIS. By the way, don't worry if the line is displayed incorrectly. If you put the HOF file in the bus directory and enter the aproppriate line code, the passengers will get into your bus normally, even if the destination display shows something strange for you.

* For some people with bad/old graphics card, this bus may be not recommended to run as AI. It has to be optimized yet. I'm working in Quadbus 4 with a AI-specific version, without a detailed interior, so it will be as light as possible.

MORE BUSES BY ME

I am working in other busses too, most of them are still WIP but you can play with them. I will be updating them soon. Those busses have doors at both sides of the bus, it is like in São Paulo (Brazil), but I can't figure out how to use them in maps (OMSI needs to use one door or another, not two, because there are some strange bugs with passengers if the two sides were enabled). I have another problem with left doors for LHD or BRT systems, if you can help... Please see this thread: http://www.omnibussimulator.de/forum/ind…&threadID=23855

Articulated Quadbus II
http://www.omsi.com.br/quadbus2-articulado/

This Quadbus II articulated has a version with working left doors! Good to LHD maps.

Quadbus BRT (23m, 18m, double-articulated in testing, 12m version also available, 15m version in progress)
http://www.omsi.com.br/quadbus-articulado/

23m Quadbus BRT has also a version with left doors enabled. All in the same package.

I've started with this in 2012:

LOL

I'm trying to make my first real bus too, a Mafersa, an old Brazilian trolleybus:

And maybe... I'm trying to make a Caio Mondego HA too, a very popular articulated 18m bus here in São Paulo:

Ok, this Bus (the MEP Quadbus II Beta) does not work. I can't select this one at the Selection Screen. There is a failure.
Three times, same Error "Bereichsüberschreitung bei Zeilenindex".

Well I use the newest OMSI 2 version, maybe that's the problem. I don't know.

Try to fix this error, maybe I'm the only that got this message.

Greetings.

You're not the only one, but... I don't know what causes this error for some, logfile.txt doesn't help... I recommend you to try to install this bus in a clean OMSI 2 installation, without any addon. This worked for everyone who have reported this error (a few people). Or... Can you post your logfile.txt here? Get the contents of this file when this error appears and you click OK.

Unfortunately I can't reproduce it, since in every PC I've tested, it worked "out of the box" (and there are many friends playing with it with no error).

EDIT: I think I've found the problem!
Please, download this file and extract/replace in the bus directory:

https://www.mediafire.com/?b4wewtflrxt9ntj

I was editing my files with another editor with Unicode support (other than Windows Notepad), and when I save the .bus and .cfg files using Notepad again, it adds a strange char at the begining of the file. OMSI in some PCs can read those files, in others don't (I don't know why, I think there is something wrong with Delphi text file detection... or maybe this error appears in XP and not on 7/8... I'm not sure). What I did now: I opened those files in my editor (it's a personal editor made with Lazarus) and deleted the first char, which was added by Notepad (maybe a strange unicode char). Unfortunately I can't test it because I've got no errors here, but I remember that I did this with a russian trolleybus that has caused that error in my PC. After deleting the first strange char of the file I was able to select the bus without any error.

I really hope this works for you! If it works, I'll update the main files.

Alternatively you can open my .bus and .cfg files, copy all the text and save (one at once) in another Notepad window, using ANSI char codification (not UTF-8 ).

***

I would like to ask to some admin/mod to move this thread to "New Buses / Neue Busse", sorry my mistake, it's a new bus, not a mod.

So, I tried it but same error there and I really don't want to clean my OMSI installation for only that bus sorry.

The Log file is not very important for that problem because there is no error to report. Only some warnings but there not really important for you.

So after I try to hit OK, I got this:

Thanks for your logfile anyway... I really can't help now :( I'll keep trying to find what is happening.

Just to collect feedback about this error... What system are you using? (Windows version)

I will check more files (sound and scripts).

I just use Windows 7 Professionell x64 Edition.

But I don't think that the Problem is the system. I think it's a problem with some scripts you use for that bus.

Does anyone have long gear stick(through the floor) model and animation suitable for this bus?

Zitat von »"MEP"«

it adds a strange char

It is called byte order mark. Always save as Unicode without BOM.
